Mysterious Light Sighted by residents of Nixa, Missouri this past week. Seen just about one month ago, new sightings of this unusual light in the night sky has long been reported by people in virtually every habitable place on Earth. Most have been explained as common phenomena such as swamp gas, jet lights, or the occasional lost weather balloon. So why is this light so different. Mainly, the fact that it never flirts off or oscillates or changes color. The light is just there.

Long time resident Ben Cartright doesn't know what all the fuss is about. He says the light has been appearing on a regular basis for as long as he can remember. He stated "the light don't move and sometimes fades in and out if you watch long enough" and added "if you be patient you see it move across the sky." Local scientists seem to be baffled at what "light" is being seen and have written off the sightings as hysteria. Sheriff Tom Callahan said "I never noticed it cause I never looked up. I guess it's always been there." He went on to assure the residents of Nixa that all is well and there is nothing to be alarmed about. Avid night sky watchers volunteered to stay on the lookout and captured the mysterious light in these photos (below).
