Deer Camp: Day 1
Nov 8, 2009: Vacation time had finally arrived! Waking up before dawn I finished packing and after a leisurely drive through the Ozark hills I arrived at our usual camping spot. After unloading the truck and setting up camp I was able to get in my stand by noon. A year had passed since our last deer camp and I was taking advantage of the nice weather to get in some early bow hunting. A light breeze was blowing out of the hollow otherwise it was calm. Almost all of the leaves had fallen and temperatures were in the mid 70's. An occasional gnat swarmed around my face as I watched the woods for movement. No deer today but the light breeze coupled with the sunshine made it a fine day.
